Sunday, 21st July 2019   Leaders:  Cath and John Freeman.

Location:  Saddleworth Moor Reservoirs.

This is a mostly level walk of approximately 6 miles around 3 reservoirs of Saddleworth Moor at Dovestone, Yeoman Hay and Greenfield.  Most of the paths are well made but there is some rough moor walking that could be avoided if preferred.  Meet at the toilets by the pay and pay display car park (£1.30 all day) at 10.45 a.m. at Dovestone Reservoir, OL3 7NE  or for car share meet at Hartford Hall upper car park at 9.30 a.m. where cars can be left on the lower car park.  

Well behaved dogs and new walkers are welcome.  Walkers should bring a packed lunch and a drink.


Wednesday, 31st July 2019   Leaders:  Dave and Sue Dawber.

Location: River Weaver from Acton Bridge.

This is a circular and virtually flat walk of about 4 miles following the River Weaver to the Dutton Locks and returning by the Bridleway canal towpath.  Walkers should meet at 6.45 p.m. at the Leigh Arms, Warrington Road, Little Leigh, CW8 4QT where we have permission to leave cars on the pub car park.  


Sunday, 4th August 2019   Leader:  Mike Holmes.

Location: Astbury, Macclefield Canal and Little Moreton Hall

This is a fairly flat walk of 6 miles taking in a mixture of roads, canal pathways, fields and bridleways. Members should bring a packed lunch and a drink and dogs and new members are welcome.

For car sharing please meet at Hartford Hall Hotel at 10 a.m. where cars can be left in the lower car park.  Otherwise walkers should meet at the Egerton Ams, Peel Lane, Astbury, CW12 4RQ at 11.15 a.m. where parking has been arranged to the left at the far end of the car park on the undestanding that we patronise the pub.  


Monday, 12th August 2019   Leaders:  Mike and Sue Beresford

Location:  Davenham, Gadbrook Park and Whatcroft.

This is a local walk of about 4 miles along minor roads, fields and the tow path by the Trent and Mersey Canal.

Meet at the Bulls Head Davenham to start the walk at 6.30 p.m.

Sunday,  15th September 2019   Leaders:  Julie, Hayley and Jean  Day Out by Coach.  

Location:  Conwy and Aber Falls. 

The day will start with a visit to Conwy where there are various attractions for both walkers and non-walkers. 

The walk of the day will include part of the North Wales long distance path following a circular route from Abergwyngreyn on the North Wales coast to the spectacular Aber Falls in the Snowdownia range. This is an uphill route to the falls but follows good tracks and paths that are generally well marked.  The return route has some steep downward sections with fanastic views.  The day will end with a visit to Llandudno for an evening meal before the return home.
