Walks Programme for 2020

Denise Davies is our walks co-ordinator (telephone 01606 41251 or 07932 150516).

Jean Pritchett publishes advance information about walks that are being arranged in the Northwich Guardian and on the website (telephone 01606 76055 or email zpritchett@aol.com).

Great News.

Group walking has now re-started, and our previously arranged walks should be able to go ahead but all leaders and walkers should note the recommended walking guidance from The Ramblers website.

The Government and The Ramblers Association have confirmed that organised outdoor physical activity events are EXEMPT from the new restrictions on social gatherings known as the rule of six that were implemented in England from 14th September.  Therefore the walking diary will go ahead as planned but members must be listed on the track and trace list that will be completed by the leader of each walk.

Will walk leaders please send full details of the walk location and timing so that sufficient details can be shown on the website prior to the walk.  Please send deails to Jean Pritchett by phone on 01606 76055 or email to zpritchett@aol.com.

If a leader has to cancel or change the walk arrangements please notify John Freeman, Jean or Denise as soon as possible so that new arangements can be made.

Covid-19 group activity guide lines.

The Rambler's website gives information about current walking permissions and regulations and members should note that the walk leader must make a list of the names and phone numbers of people who are walking - for tracing purposes if we are subsequently notified of anyone who contracts Covid-19.  We will provide a small book and walking sheets that must be completed by the walk leader giving details of the walk and participants and then passed to the leader of the next walk so that all walks will be viewable in one place.

Leaders should note that if more than 30 people turn up to walk, it will be necessary to offer alternative routes or staggered staring times to allow the group to split into smaller numbers.

Official details of walking regulations can be seen on the Volunteer-zone page of The Rambler's website as follows:
