Walks Programme for 2021

Jean Pritchett is responsible for publicising advance information about the proposed walks on this website (telephone 01606 76055 or email zpritchett@aol.com).

 Will leaders who wish to lead a walk please notify Denise of the dates preferred so that she can compile an organised programme with named leaders; dates will be offered on a first come first served basis but there is no need to give details of the individual walks until about 3 weeks before the due date when full infomation should be sent to Jean Pritchett for publication on the website.   



Walking Dates for 2021



Monday  17th May           Leaders: Sue and Dave Dawber  Location:  Kelsall, Delamere Forest.

This was a circular walk of about 3 miles from the Farmers' Arms.  


Sunday  23rd May           Leader:  Paul Everatt   Location:  Kelsall, Oscroft and Duddon.

This was a virtually flat circular walk of about 6.5 miles from the Morris Dancer in Kelsall.  


Wednesday  2nd June    Leaders:  Evelyn, Jen and John.  

Location:  Carey Park, Northwich.

This was a four mile circular easy walk and included the Anderton Boat Lift and Marina.


Sunday  6th June            Leaders:  Andy and Dave Ryder.  

Location:  Marston, Great Budworth and Marbury.  

This was a circular walk of approximately 7 miles from The Salt Barge. 


Monday 14th June           Leader:  Mike Holmes.

Location: From Mouldsworth.

This was a circular walk of about 4 miles starting from The Goshawk.


Sunday  20th June          Leaders: Evelyn, Jen and John. 

Location: Peover Eye.

This was a 6 mile circular walk passing Peover Church and Peover Hall.


Wednesday  30th June   Leaders:  Julie Farrow and Jean Pritchett 

Location: Weaver Way towards Winsford.  

This was a riverside walk of more than 5 miles from the Hayhust Arms.  


Sunday  4th July             Leaders:  Cath and John Freeman

Location:  West Kirby and Hilbre Island.

This was a return linear walk of about 7 miles to Hilbre Island from Caldy.  


Monday  12th July           Leaders:  Fiona and Pete Baker.

Location:  Middlewich canals and rivers.  

This was a circular walk around the canals and rivers of Middlewich. 


Sunday  18th July           Leaders:  Claire Hewitt and Diane Marsh. 

Location: Chorlton Ees Nature Reserve.

This was a flat off road walk around the lakes of the water park in serious heat!  


Wednesday  28th July    Leader:  Denise Davies.

Location:  Cotebrook and Oulton.

This was an easy walk of about 3. miles from the Fox and Barrel..  


Sunday  1st August          Leaders:  Cath and John Freeman 

Location:  Bollington, Rainow and White Nancy.   

This was a 7 mile circular walk with lovely views of the Peak District and the Cheshire Plain.


Monday  9th August         Leaders:  Andy and Dave Ryder.

Location:  Petty Pool Wood, Sandiway.  

This was an easy local walk of 5 miles from the Blue Cap.


Sunday  15th August       Leaders:  Kim Harding and Griecha Buckley

Location:  Acton Bridge and Little Leigh area.  

This was a mostly flat circular walk of 6.4 miles starting from the Leigh Arms. 


Wednesday  25th August   Leaders: George and Janice Berry and Robert Booth. 

Location:  Appleton area of Warrington.

This was an easy walk of 4 miles through the Lumb Brook valley. 


Sunday   29th August         Leaders:  Ray Jones, Julie Farrow and Jean Pritchett.

Location:  Tatton Park.  

A six mile walk through the Tatton Estate and deer park.


Sunday  12th September    Leader:  Mike Holmes 

Location:  Audlem and the South Cheshire Way.  

This was a 6 mile circular walk from the centre of Audlem.  With no rain!  


Sunday  26th September    Leaders:  Mike and Sue Beresford

Location: Lower Heswall, Wirral.  

This was a walk of about 5.5 miles alongside the Dee Estuary between Heswall and Thursaston in glorious weather.  


Sunday  10th October         Leaders:  Julie Farrow and Jean Pritchett 

Location: The Candlefactory, Beeston and the Sandstone Trail.

This was a circular walk of almost 6 miles ending at The Pheasant Inn.  


Sunday  24th October         Leader:  Trish Nancollis

Location:  The Walk of the Ways - Cheshire Trails from Mouldsworth (with a train journey to the start)

This was a superb walk of 8 miles with good weather, good views and good company.



Sunday   7th November    Leaders, Pete and Fiona Baker.   

Location:  Middlewich.  

This is an easy 6 mile walk along canals, footpaths and quite roads calling at Hopley House which has a cafe on site.  Some paths could be muddy in places and there are four stiles to negotiate. Well behaved dogs are welcome.  

Meet at 10.30 in the  Civic (Victoria) Hall car park, Civic Way, Middlewich, CW10 9AS.
